Air Service Development Manager
Colorado Springs Airport (COS)

As a key member of the management team for the Airport, you will direct the development and execution of air service development strategic objectives, key initiatives, and tactical plans to expand air service and increase airport usage.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:

  • Supervise the execution of long and short-term air service development plans
  • Initiate and maintain productive client relationship management strategies and tactics with existing carriers, airports, aviation organizations, local business, and related organizations with a stake in air travel, to increase the use of the Airport Work directly with the Director of Aviation to develop regional strategy for strengthening air service with other regional airports
  • Develop strong relationships with current and potential customers; build a rapport with airlines and stakeholders audiences to influence growth Conduct research on passenger, cargo, and general aviation service wants/needs Coordinate complex and diverse projects, often with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Manage airline rates and charges; ensure rates and charges are competitive with comparable airports
  • Manage use and lease agreements
  • Identify industry trends and legislative and economic factors that have potential to disrupt existing air service at the Airport to make recommendations for business solutions and/or action plans
  • Utilize internal relationships to provide seamless account management, a united front to customers, and ultimately enable the ability to quickly respond to customer requests or escalations Lead account conversations with key internal partners to evaluate account performance, develop short- and long-term strategies, and discuss/act upon optimization opportunities
  • Formulate creative marketing strategies and presentations to retain passenger services and air cargo services through data and economic support information
  • Direct the research and analysis process related to macroeconomic factors affecting passenger service and cargo services at the Airport Partner with the Communications department to develop marketing materials that promote passenger and air cargo services at the Airport
  • Establish short- and long-range goals for air service development projects by identifying and prioritizing development opportunities

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

 

Successful candidate will have: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration, marketing, aviation, or a related field. Five years of full-time professional experience in aviation service development, including two years of supervisory experience. Possess and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges

 

Ideal candidates will have: A master's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration, marketing, aviation, or a related field


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The selected candidate must pass (or have already passed) a fingerprint-based criminal history records check as required by the Transportation Security Administration.
Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, and walking or standing to a significant degree.
